Shopping Trip to Westfield Garden State Plaza

Black Friday 11/29/2019

Parents are welcome to join as chaperones for our trip to the Westfield Garden State Plaza Shopping Mall, recognized by the New York Times as the “single most influential retail destination in the United States.”

Schedule:
11:00 a.m.         Brunch (boarding students)
11:30 a.m.         Depart from school building A
1:00 p.m.           Arrive at Garden Plaza
1-6 p.m.             Shopping & Dinner (at the food court on your own)
6:30 p.m.           Leave for school
8 p.m.                Arrive at school building A

Trip cost:

  • Boarding students: free transportation
  • Non-boarding students: $30 including transportation and supervision
  • Chaperone: $15
Registration/Payment Deadline is 5 PM on Friday, Nov. 22. Please make your payment to Mrs. Katy Mantyk at C reception.

Notice:

  • Please bring cash for shopping and dinner.
  • This is a school field trip. All students must follow instructions all the time. Failing to do so will result in disciplinary consequences.
  • All smart devices are prohibited during the school trip.
  • Residential students must inform the school if you plan to leave the dorm during this long weekend by Thursday (11/21) 9 p.m. to allow the school to arrange staff and logistics.
  • Please update the school with any change in your child’s medical condition and/or your emergency contact information.

Skating & Hiking @ Bear Mountain 

Saturday, 11/30/2019

Parents are welcome to join as chaperones for our trip to Bear Mountain for outdoor ice skating and hiking/climbing.

Schedule:
10:00 a.m.             breakfast (boarding students)
10:30 a.m.             Depart from school building A
11:30 am                Arrive at Bear Mountain
12-1:30 pm            Ice skating
1:30-4:00 pm        Hiking to Perkins Memorial Tower and back
4:15 pm                  Leave for school
5:00 pm                 Arrive at school building A

Trip cost:

  • Boarding students: free transportation, admissions ticket, shoe rental
  • Non-boarding students: $30 including transportation and supervision; pay at the door for Ice rink admission: $5; Shoe rental: $5
  • Chaperone: $15 for transportation
Registration/Payment Deadline is 5 PM on Friday, Nov. 22. Please make your payment ($30) to Mrs. Katy Mantyk at C reception.

Notice: 

  • Rink is OUTDOORS and UNCOVERED, so please dress appropriately.
  • All smart devices are prohibited during the school trip.
  • Please bring spending money if needed and locker rental for personal belongings $0.50.
  • Residential students must inform the school if you plan to leave the dorm during this Thanksgiving weekend by Thursday (11/21) 9 p.m. to allow the school to arrange staff and logistics.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Thursday, 11/28/2019

12:00-2:00 pm:     Games indoor and outdoor (Ping Pong, Pumpkin Roll)
2:00 pm:                 Preparation for dinner and making dumplings
4:00 pm                  Thanksgiving Dinner @ cafeteria

The traditional menu will include a stuffed turkey and cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, vegetables, a delicious salad mixed with kale, sweet potatoes, cabbage, cranberries, and beets in it. To add an eastern component, they will also make dumplings.
Cost:

  • Boarding students  - free
  • Other students or staff - $10
Registration/Payment Deadline is 5 p.m., Monday, Nov. 25 (Total 50 people maxi. Please make payment to Mr. Hugo Peng in C203.)

Ballet Show Trip

Enjoy a ballet performance of ‘The Nutcracker’ at the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center in Warwick city.  Some of our own ballet students are performing in it, so it will be extra special.

6-8 p.m.             Showtime
8 p.m.                 Leave for school
